Annual formation for Latin Patriarchate priests in Lebanon
LEBANON – From June 27 until July 1, 2016, the Presbyteral Council of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem organized its annual continuing education session, entitled “Spiritual Accompaniment and sermon” at the University of St. Joseph in Beirut.
The aim of this session is to help young priests to strengthen and reinforce their apostolic work and priesthood purposes.
Participating in this session are twenty five priests from the Latin Patriarchate, those who have been ordained for ten years or less. The priests were accompanied by Most Rev. William Shomali, Patriarchal Vicar of Jerusalem and Palestine.
The program of the session included the pilgrimage to the Lady of Lebanon Shrine in Harissa and the Monastery of St. Anthony in Qozhaya, where they listened to the poet and writer Fr. Youhana El Khawand, one of the most known monks in Lebanon.
The participant priests come from the different parishes in Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Dubai and San Francisco.
