Patriarch Twal visits Jerusalem kehilla

Patriarch Twal visits Jerusalem kehilla

JERUSALEM – On Sunday, February 7, 2016, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal paid a visit to the Jerusalem kehilla and celebrated the mass for the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple.

The Jerusalem kehilla’s home is the House of Saint Simeon and Anne, the two elderly people awaiting the coming of the Messiah, who welcomed Jesus to the Temple when his parents brought him at the age of forty days. During his visit, when he celebrated the mass of the feast, Patriarch Twal explained who these two elderly people are in the Gospel and what they can teach us today.

The kehilla members welcomed Patriarch Fouad Twal warmly and the mass was a chance to celebrate the feast with the Patriarch. The Patriarch celebrated the mass in English, preached in French and the assembly responded in Hebrew. At the end of the mass, the community gathered for a sumptuous reception.
