Launching of “A Woman from Palestine”: book about educator Marguerite Kashou
Ramallah – Friday 30th of October, 2015, a mass was held in the Latin Church of Ramallah, on the eve of All Saints ’ Day, in memory of Marguerite Kashou. Bishop Kamal Bathish, presided over the mass in participation of Bishop William Shomali, Patriarchal Vicar of Jerusalem and Palestine, and Bishop Giacinto-Boulos Marcuzzo, Patriarchal Vicar in Israel. Mass was followed by the launching of the book: “A Woman from Palestine” that tells the life story of Ms. Kashou.
During the homily, Bishop Shomali said that “this lady had left a big impact on everyone in Ramallah and abroad; she was an example to look up to”. He also added that she was a cultured woman that raised many generations at Bethlehem University and who had devoted her life for the general good and for the Legion of Mary in which she was one of its founders.
After the Mass, Bishop. Marcuzzo launched the book which was put together by Patriarch Emeritus Michel Sabbah with the help of “the Commemoration of Marguarite Kashou” committee that includes Fr. Faisal Hijazin, Sr. Elizabeth Mitri, Br. Basim Ghattas, Br. Wasif Daher, Sr. Widad Kashou and Bishop Marcuzzo.
In the introduction of the book, Bishop. Marcuzzo wrote that Marguerite Kashou was always seeking God’ plan in her life and was working diligently for the Legion of Mary in which she was a founder and member.
