Congresswoman Ann Wagner visits the Latin Patriarchate
JERUSALEM – On Wednesday, August 12, Ann Wagner, a U.S. representative for Missouri’s 2nd congressional district visited the Latin Patriarchate accompanied by her husband and a delegation.
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem welcomed the visit of Ann Wagner, a US congressional representative from Missouri. She was accompanied by her husband, Ray Wagner, as well as a delegation of 30 people, who also met with the heads of state and governments of Israel and Palestine.
Mrs. Wagner met with Bishop William Shomali, Auxiliary Bishop of Jerusalem. At the heart of their discussions were the peace process in the region and the status of the Holy City, and reiterating a wish that Jerusalem, can and should be a capital for two states and three religions.
At the end of the visit, Bishop Shomali presented the pilgrim shell to Mr. and Mrs. Wagner, who are members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. Ann Wagner was born and raised in the Missouri and became one of the state’s representatives in Congress after winning the elections in 2012.
