Patriarch visits Jubeiha parish: “you are the living stones.”
AMMAN – On May 1 and 2, 2015 His Beatitude Fouad Twal, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, visited St. Paul Parish at Jubeiha. During this pastoral visit many children of the parish to received the sacrament of Confirmation. Mass was celebrated at the parish high school with the impending graduation ceremony.
His Beatitude Fouad Twal came to Jubeiha Parish on Friday where he was welcomed by the Pastor, Fr. Tariq Abou Hanna, his Vicar Fr. Fares Siryani, the Sisters in the parish and the young scouts.
His Beatitude presided over the Confirmation ceremony of a group of children and later visited the sick and elderly people.
He was warmly welcomed by headmaster and students of the parish high school where he celebrated Mass with the impending graduation ceremony for 45 students. He also attended a Science exhibition.
In his homily, His Beatitude spoke to the youth: “You are the living stones of this Church. Keep the faith and trust in God despite all the hardships which you meet and the crisis which the Christians of the Middle East live in.”
The Parish was founded in 1986 and now has 1,300 families coming from North of Amman. Religious services and prayers take place in parish hall, as the church is under construction for the past seven years.
