Easter festival preparation for 3,000 Catholic Schools children from

centre-internationalAnnouncement – For the past four weeks, the International Mary of Nazareth Centre has been resonating with the singing and speaking voices of children from the Catholic Schools in Galilee, and this will be continuing until Easter, on the 20th of April.

In all, over 3200 of these children are being prepared throughout Lent for the festival of Easter.

Between 100 and 200 children come to the Centre every morning,. They are from all the Catholic Schools in Nazareth, Jaffa, Rene, Cana, Haifa, Ebeleen, Rameh, Ramleh and Eilabun…

The programme has been prepared by Shadi Abu Khadra, secretary to Mgr Marcuzzo, and it combines a part of the multimedia show which the Centre has created, plus watching a film about the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus, some entertaining multimedia games on Bible knowledge, together with singing, lessons, prayer times, and a break time with refreshments on the terraces of the Centre. In this way, the children will receive a genuine catechism and they will doubtless be touched by the time that they spend at the Centre. This should truly be a happy, lively time.

This project has been made possible thanks to the support of a team of leaders who join us every day: Abouna Marie-Françoise from Cana, Sister Camelia El Khoury from the Sisters of Nazareth, Janan and Jaber from Nazareth. It must also be said that this has been made possible through the financial support of the Secretariat for Solidarity for Catholic Schools and Institutions in the Holy Land, together with the support of Abuna Abdel Masih Fahim, the Director of Catholic Schools.

The Chemin Neuf Community is delighted to have been able help with the running of this activity and to welcome all these children. It has much appreciated the opportunity to contribute in this way to the training and spiritual awakening  of these young people through seeing the setting in which it lives and benefitting from this magnificent evangelisation tool which has been produced by the Mary of Nazareth Centre.
