Follow Biblical meditations or send prayer intentions. The new website is characterized by clarity, practicality, completeness and will allow the families of seminarians, friends of the Seminary to follow different activities from home, all year round.
The Latin Patriarchate Seminary in Beit Jala was founded in 1852 in Jerusalem and moved to Beit Jala in 1857. Seven priests are on staff with Father Ibrahim Adib Zoomot, its Rector since 2009. Since its establishment, the Seminary has trained more than 260 priests, 12 have become Bishops and three Latin Patriarchs of Jerusalem (Patriarchs Beltritti, Sabbah, Twal).
The seminarians in 2012
For the school year 2012/2013, which coincides with the 160th year of its foundation, the Seminary prepares to welcome many new seminarians at its August 28 opening.
This year, the Minor Seminary will have 23 new students bringing the number of minor seminarians to 43 .
Eight new students are coming into the Major Seminary from Jordan, Palestine and the United States for philosophy and theology studies. This brings the total number for major seminarians to 35.
