Feast of Christ the King in Jifna
The Latin Parish of St. Joseph in Jifna celebrated the feast of Christ the King on Sunday, November 21st. This festival marks the end of the liturgical year. It was also an occasion for the faithful to commemorate the beatification of Mother Marie Alphonsine, and pray for vocations.
Rev. Firas Aridah and Rev. Louis Hazboun concelebrated the Mass attended by first year of philosophy seminarians of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the faithful which included many children and young people.
During the celebration, Tariq Shomali one of the seminarians, and Sister Amal, a Lebanese Rosary sister shared their vocation stories.
This mass was also an opportunity to celebrate the first anniversary of the beatification of Mother Mary Alphonsine, foundress of the Rosary Sisters, and to pray for vocations that the “Lord of harvest send more workers in the vineyard.”
Pastoral activities were organized for the young people, ages 6-20. Paper crowns were crafted to recall Christ’s kingship.
Father Hazboun urged those present to participate in the kingdom of God not only in fame but also in the cross. He emphasized the role of Christians in the Holy Land who are called to give witness to Christ’s cross.
